Ok my brother has just started to get intop Xbox Live now the problem is we are both on the sam router but when one goes online the other disconnects from Xbox Live does anyone know whats casuseing this.
I read on one thread I found on the net its because the router does not know where to send the information. Some people were saying its down to teh routers some not haveing the capability to run 2 Xboxs on certain router and its best to get a good router I have a Belkin one but its about 2 - 3 years old now. These are the codes for the two Xbox 360 that they are under. DNS Servers Secondary DNS Server194.168.4.100 Both me and me brother have this code in the xbox network settings. Any Help appriciated |

Have you set manual network settings on the router or are they automatic?

Yeah all you should need to do is assign the Xbox's network seetings manually to ensure they have seperate IP's and job done.
The router itself will work with 2 Xbox's...it won't know the difference between whatever is receiving the output. I take it you're using two separate accounts?

It should work with no probs. Mines auto assigns IP addys to both mine and my bro's 360's. We game online together a lot with COD4.

If I'm not mistaken the DNS servers should be the same. They come from your ISP and dont change, they are always the same.
Me and my brother use the same router on automatic settings with 2 Xboxes and it works fine, haven't checked what the DNS are though. I take it both of them can get online fine when the other isn't plugged in. So it might be something to do with your router settings. Have a look online and see if there is a firmware update for it, might fix it. |

Are they connecting wirelessly or wired?
I have four xbox's connected to the same router. Never had any problems. The actual xbox settings should remain on automatic and as Phat said, the DNS should be the same. Sounds like conflicting IP's meaning both the xbox's are trying to connect via the same IP. Go into your routers configuration via the browser, usually 192.168.1.1 and find the list of connected devices, usually there should be a check box on each device connected as to whether you wish them to use a static IP or dynamic. You want dynamic so that the router assigns new IPs to the consoles. Hope that helps. Sion Gundy | Console Monster | S1ON : GT

I just contacted Belkin and they said to forward one of the xbox 360 ports but how do I find out the port number they said contact Microsoft.
Also they said to put one of the Xboxs in the DMZ which I have just done meaning one the xbox is outside of the firewall. |

You should find most routers in there, so will give exact instrcutions relevant to you. These are the ports you should open: * TCP 80 * UDP 88 * UDP 3074 * TCP 3074 * UDP 53 * TCP 53

If anything goes wrong you can reset your router back to default.
