Gran Turismo 5 is complete. At least thats what Polyphony Digital boss, Kazunori Yamauchi has said, but the only thing stopping the game actually launching is his perfectionism.
“All the basic stuff is complete, but we’re trying to give everything that little bit extra at present,” he told Famitsu magazine.
“We could release it any time we want, really, but I want to have that classic GT-style ‘did we really have to go this far?’ feel going. I want to go way beyond gamer expectations.”
Of course, Gran Turismo 5 was due to launch next month, close to the launch of Forza Motorsport 3 on the Xbox 360. Ironically it has taken Microsoft the same amount of time to launch three Forza games in the time Gran Turismo 5 has being in development. Puts it into perspective a little bit.
We are expecting miracles when GT5 launches, it’s down for March 2010 now in Japan and hopefully sometime shortly after for us. But we don’t hold our breathe.
